A pioneering polar adventurer, climber and ski mountaineer, Tom Avery is one of the UK’s foremost explorers. He has led trailblazing expeditions to all seven continents, but it is for his record-breaking polar journeys that he is best known.
“Avery is shaping up to join the ranks of such British immortals as Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Dame Ellen MacArthur”
The Sunday Times
As well as scaling several unclimbed peaks in the Himalayan chain, Tom is part of an elite group of only nine people in history to have completed the polar trilogy; full-length South and North Pole expeditions and a coast-to-coast crossing of Greenland.
He holds two Guinness World Records; the fastest surface journey to the North Pole and the fastest crossing of Greenland. He is also the youngest Briton to have reached both Poles.
Tom Avery is an inspiring, highly-acclaimed motivational speaker and one of the most popular on the international circuit. Tom’s presentations give audiences a unique insight into a life lived on the edge, as well as subtle lessons about teamwork, goal-setting, personal motivation and maximising one’s true potential. A passionate environmentalist, Tom shines a light on both the wonder and fragility of our frozen world and how its future affects us all.
